Meet the
Cast & Crew
And find out what they're up to...
Counter
Vern Rico
On the surface this clip isn't much. Indeed
this is only a fragment of  the footage we
shot. But it does represent a number of
firsts during production.

1. It is the first "on screen footage" of
"STANLEY" the actor ( Vern Rico).

2. It was essentially our "final" screen
test"/ verification that our  choice of actor
(an actor of limited experience) could be
as personable,  comfortable, and naturally
at ease in front of the camera as we'd
hoped.

3. It gave us some VERY preliminary
footage (sans green screen) to  start
experimenting with the animation/altering
of Stanley to fit in with the various
animated, and semi-animated elements
of the world  being built physically and
virtually for our film.

A few more interesting "TID-BITS" about
the clip:
This tape was shot "on the fly" as Vern
was preparing to leave Studio A "the
bunker" (IE my basement) after an
afternoon of carpentry, mayhem, and
preliminary renovations in preparation to
begin shooting (theoretically in about a
week) at our very unfinished facility. Vern
(who prefers to be called RICO) is dirty,
sweaty and hardly at his best here. (Which
was what we figured, and thought this
would be a great  time to see what sort of
stamina we could expect after a long day
of  hooting/working etc...)
As Rico is not a full time actor, and would
more often than not be showing up on set
after working his REAL job, we figured
we'd give him a little "test". We're happy to
report he passed with more than flying
colors!
And Yes, our "STAR" is also our carpenter,
set designer, builder, and all around
handyman. In the still you can clearly see
the resemblance to Harrison Ford (who
also had a "construction" background).
