He's Alive!!! How Stanley went from live to animated and back again all for the sake of the story, the animators sanity, and a director with a really weird vision...

If you haven't heard the news- Cohoe's is now a... Full Length Feature Film!!!
And to the right is a sample test animation for your amusement...
Film making sheep playing it safe, feeding film going sheep who are happy to see the same movie slightly re-constituted visually and story wise over and over isn't what we want to do. There are many types of animation (all having something to offer) and they have all been replaced with clay and cgi. How boring, don't you think? We've tried to use the new techniques and some of the ground breaking older ones you don't see anymore to create something uniquely new but still retro cool.
The feature version of our story no longer lent itself to live action alone. Not that we ever intended to go any other way than animated. And of course the reasons listed above. The unique ability to animate in different styles allows us to control the level of reality of things around STanley, allowing us inside the characters psyche, in a way you never could with live action alone. There really was no choice to be made. Besides, this way we have no actors to feed and house and bus to various sets. Basically without computer animation "Cohoe's" couldn't exist!
Ok. With that said: What sort of animation can we expect from "Sleeping with the Cohoe's"???
In a word? Crappy. But in a South Park, Monty Python, Ralph Bakshee cutting edge sort of way. For COHOE's we actually took state of the art C.G.I. and retro looked it back to look hand drawn, applied special effects to live action to give it a more animated look, and even used different qualities of animation to create a world who's reality is actually reflected in how real or animated things appear!!! You literally SEE the world as STanley (the guy the film's about) does, being able to distinguish what is and isn't real to him, and HOW REAL!
